What is the meaning and origin of Akua?

Akua is an Akan female given name in Ghana, meaning "born on a Wednesday". Tradition holds that females born on this day are champions for the cause of others.

How did you come up with the name for the brand?

It was given to my wife (partner & inspiration behind Akua Brand) in a naming ceremony when we celebrated our 10 year anniversary in Cape Coast, Ghana.

Akua Brand is more than just athletic apparel and accessories; it's a cultural movement. We blend high-performance design with rich cultural inspiration, celebrating heritage and empowering you to move with purpose and style.

What is a pre-order?

A pre-order allows you to reserve new or highly anticipated items before they are officially released or back in stock. It ensures you'll be among the first to receive them! 

When will my pre-order ship?

Pre-orders typically ship within 4-6 weeks from the date your order was placed. We appreciate your patience as we meticulously prepare your unique pieces. You will receive a shipping confirmation with tracking once your order is on its way.

Do you ship internationally?

We would LOVE to but not at this time. We are open to expanding should the demand require.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

For in-stock items, orders typically process within 2-3 business days. Standard shipping usually takes 5-7 business days domestically. Please note that pre-order timelines are different (see "Pre-Orders" above).

How can I track my order?

Once your order ships, you will receive an email with a tracking number. You can use this number to track your package's journey.

What if my package is lost or damaged?

What is your return policy?

We want you to love your Akua Brand items! We accept returns of unworn, unwashed items with original tags attached within 33 days of delivery for a full refund or exchange. All "Final Sale" items are not available for return or exchange. Full Return & Exchange Policy here
